How NeoGen Works
NeoGen uses nitrogen gas, which is ionized inside the device and delivered as controlled plasma pulses. As these pulses pass through the skin:
- Oxygen is displaced, allowing the plasma energy to penetrate deeper than atmospheric plasma devices (such as Plexr).
- Heat is distributed evenly through the targeted tissue, stimulating collagen and elastin production.
- The skin responds with both immediate tightening and long-term remodeling, producing smoother, firmer, and healthier skin.
A key difference: NeoGen leaves the skin’s surface intact while treating the layers beneath. This creates a natural safety barrier, making it one of the safest plasma resurfacing options available.
How NeoGen Differs from Other Technologies
Compared to CO₂ Lasers:
Traditional CO₂ lasers target the water in skin cells, vaporizing tissue layer by layer. While effective, this approach can lead to prolonged healing and higher risk of complications.
Fractional CO₂ lasers
Fractional CO₂ lasers were developed to improve recovery. They target small, microscopic columns of skin while leaving surrounding tissue intact. This fractional pattern allows the untreated skin to help regenerate the treated areas, leading to faster healing compared to traditional full-field CO₂.
NeoGen works differently.
As the nitrogen plasma passes through the epidermis, it creates what is called a “biologic bandage.” This protective layer allows the entire skin surface (100%) to be safely treated in a single session, without leaving untreated zones. The result is more even resurfacing, smoother tone and texture, and uniform collagen remodeling.
Compared to Morpheus8 (Radiofrequency Microneedling):
Morpheus8 uses fine needles to deliver radiofrequency energy beneath the skin. While effective, it cannot safely treat very delicate areas like the eyelids, and usually requires a series of multiple sessions.
